Identifying essential services cargo
How are the ports and courier companies identifying "essential services" cargo? What measures are the government putting in place to ensure we receive these - especially the ones that are temperature controlled and/or time critical?
We are not aware of any delays at ports, airports, transitional facilities, with deliveries, etc. All such services are deemed essential and are operating normally, including deliveries to consumers. If you have evidence of delays let MPI and we can look into it further.
Privacy for essential services registration information
Can MPI please give assurance to the horticulture industry and growers that the personal and business information being collected through Safe Practice registrations will only be used and stored for the current COVID-19 response?
Yes, because the Privacy Act stipulates that personal information may only be used for the purpose for which it is provided.
